Welcome to the projects page. Here you can see lots of examples of our work. Many of these short film clips are a way of recording our work and not necessarily an example of our film making capabilities. We pride ourselves on designing projects to suit each individual clients needs. If you are interested in delivering any project creatively through any art form please contact us to discuss how we can support you.

Salt Dough Healthy Eating Project 2011
Using flour, salt and food colouring we make salt dough to model different types of food. We bake them hard in the oven and use all of the food pieces to create a fantastic giant face. The face is varnished, framed and installed onto an internal wall. (Thanks to artists Gill & Maureen Ashman who worked with us on this project)
Ceramic Tile Art Projects 2010/11
Participants design, draw and paint a ceramic tile. Themes have included, freindship, healthy eating, international links and local history. The tiles are then installed onto a wall and sealed. This project has been delivered from KS1- Adult. These are unfired tiles making it very accesible and economical.
'Just For A Laugh?' Exploring Risk Drama Project
This 4 day project has been delivered in over 70 schools and youth groups with children and young people aged 5 - 19 years old. Participants identify risky situations and create scenarios to role play and explore. The scenarios are professionally filmed for use with other children and young people. (see our PSHE page)
Our projects support children and teachers with the skills needed to complete complex animations. We use equipment and software that is freely available to encourage longevity of the work post project. This project was in partnership with Aycliffe and District Bus Preservation Society
Outreach - Darlington School of Maths & Science
On this project we worked with 250 year 5 children, from five feeder primary schools, participating in the showcase. An audience of 500 attended. See a press article
International Projects - Maori Dance & Song
We were invited to work in Kamo primary school New Zealand in February 2011. We worked with teachers, children and Maori 'Kapa Haka' leaders. Some of our students from Crook primary school were asked to perform their work at the recent International confrence at the Raddison Hotel Durham.
International Projects - Indian Dance & Song
We visited South Point School, Guwahati, Assam in North East India in 2010. We worked with teachers and children to extend our knowledge of local culutural song and dance. This video features year 5 children from Crook primary school performing some of these songs and dances at their school show 'Brahma Hindustan'
Clay Stop Motion Animation - Local History
Workshops are available for 'Wallace and Gromit' style, 3D object manipulation and drawing 'stop motion' animation. Participants make flip books, models and sets. They use simple cameras, mobile phones or any available equipment to take pictures. Using free software they learn to compress photographs to optimise their work before uploading their work to Windows Movie Maker or imovie.
Music Video & Songwriting
This clip features two school videos. The project lasted for 3 days writing the song on day 1 (theme in this example 'Bullying' and 'Healthy Food') recording the song on day 2 and filming the video on day 3. The video was edited in our film studio, however, this could be an onsite feature. The process involved the children researching the theme in a very motivational and creative way.
Film Production Workshops
Our film projects help children to work in a pre and post production simulated television studio. The workshop helps to develop literacy and presentaion skills using journalistic techniques. Experience a newsroom or make a documentry around any theme.
African Drumming
We can provide African drumming and contemporary rhythm workshops. Participants have the opportunity to play as an ensemble, improvise and perform a solo. They read and create simple musical notation. The workshop can also be filmed professionally.
Les Watts Live
Les performing with the 'Watts & Whiffin Big Band' at the Live Theatre Newcastle. Available for performance, improvisation and songwriting workshops. Les studied Jazz and Popular music at Newcastle College and a BA Hon in music education at Sunderland University.
